Linking The Tipis

Triangle Kit

In this section we will show you how to link your 3 Tipis together in a triangle formation.

STEP 1

Erect your first Double Tipi frames like you do normally with the 18" gap between the frames

STEP 2

Framework

Erect the last Tipi Frame

Fix the end of a tape measure to the ground at the centre of Tent 1

Unreel the tape to 20mtrs and have someone hold that point of the tape on the centre of Tipi 2

Get someone else to hold the tape at 10mtr and stretch it out so that both sides are tight - this will give you the centre of Tipi 3 put a stake in the ground at this point.

STEP 3

Linking Bars

Link your Double like normal 1 linking bar on the side linking kit and the middle linking bar which you will have top move to the pearlin take a look at the diagrams attached so see where it needs to go. Miss the 3rd linking bar off. The linking bar for your triangle is going to sit under your middle linking bar.

The Triangle linking bar is going to be ratcheted under and onto the middle lifting kit pole, The Triangle secure bar and sit on the pearlin of Tipi 3 again ratcheted to the main Tipi pole. The Triangle secure bar will be ratcheted to the pearlin after the middle linking Bar this makes the link a lot more secure.

Make sure every linking bar has ratchets and are all secure.

STEP 4

 External Strapping

Take a look at the image attached to see how the Triangle Tipi gets strapped down you will need extra long external straps to reach across. You may need to use some of the straps that you have with your existing Double Tipi, take note of the new stap locations and be prepared to unlink your current setup. If there is bad weather forecast make sure you add more straps to get the Tipis bolted down.

TIPI 3

Strap the Tipi on its own to the pearlins of the Double Tipi using 2-3mtr internal straps making sure they are tight to prevent water pooling. It should only take 6-8 straps placed in the right place like this to get the Tipi tight and linked.

STEP 6

Sheet Placement

With a triangle linking kit you will have

1x Roof sheet (your existing roof sheet)

2x triangle linking kit side sheets

Take a look at the photos attached to see where you need to place your sheets. The roof sheet sits over the middle lifting kit bar and goes to the pearlins of Tipi 3 which will be fastened into the Tipi with internal straps. The other end of that sheet will go over your side linking bar and be pegged down outside like a normal roof sheet.

Side Sheets

There are 2 Triangle linking kit side sheets. A left and a right so make sure you have them the right way, D-rings with black reinforcement should always be inside.

Taking one of the sheets

Each sheet has a V this is the bottom of the side linking sheet and will be pegged outside. The top of the sheet is strapped inside of the Tipi. The top corners of the sheet are strapped to the pearlins where they are strapped depends on how far out you peg the bottom of the sheet. The best thing to do is peg the bottom of the sheet outside first then move inside and strap the sheet accordingly.

Finally

Make sure all straps are tight and there are no sags for water to accumulate. This can be a process of make it up as you go along it will take a few practice goes until you get it right any questions give us a call.
